Terms & Conditions

Clear expectations. Thoughtful experiences. A shared understanding before your time in Iceland begins.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

01 About these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to photography services, elopements, proposals, private guided experiences, tours and related services provided by Jónas Karl Jónsson (“I”, “me” or “the Provider”).

By making a booking, you agree to the terms confirmed in your booking proposal, written confirmation or service agreement, together with these Terms & Conditions. Where specific booking terms conflict with these general terms, the specific terms will apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.

02 Services

Services may include professional photography, elopement and proposal planning, private sightseeing experiences, guided outdoor activities, and photography combined with travel experiences in Iceland.

The exact services, duration, itinerary, deliverables, price and inclusions will be described in the relevant proposal or booking confirmation. Any additional services, expenses or itinerary changes must be agreed upon in writing.

Experiences take place in natural environments where conditions, access and travel times can change. Locations and itineraries may therefore need to be adjusted for safety, weather, road conditions, closures or other circumstances beyond the Provider’s control.

03 Bookings & confirmation

A booking is considered confirmed when the Provider has accepted the booking in writing and any required deposit or advance payment has been received, as specified in the booking proposal.

Clients are responsible for reviewing the booking confirmation and ensuring that all relevant details are correct, including dates, meeting arrangements, selected services and the number of participants.

Requests made after confirmation, including additional shooting time, extra locations or changes to the itinerary, are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

04 Pricing & payment

Prices, currency, payment schedule, deposit requirements and any applicable taxes will be stated in the booking proposal or invoice. Payment must be made by the agreed due dates.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, additional expenses not expressly included in the booking price are the client’s responsibility. These may include accommodation, meals, activity fees, transport outside the agreed itinerary and other personal expenses.

Where a payment is overdue, the Provider may suspend or withhold services to the extent permitted by applicable law and the agreed booking terms.

05 Cancellation & rescheduling

Cancellation deadlines, deposits, refunds and rescheduling conditions will be set out in the booking proposal or confirmation. Clients should review these terms carefully before confirming a reservation.

If a client requests a change of date, the Provider will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request, subject to availability. Changes may affect the price and may require a new written agreement.

Nothing in these terms limits any cancellation, withdrawal, refund or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer protection or package travel legislation.

06 Weather, access & safety

Iceland’s weather and natural environment can be unpredictable. Wind, snow, ice, heavy rain, road closures, volcanic activity, restricted access and other conditions may affect an experience.

The Provider may change an itinerary, postpone an activity, choose an alternative location or cancel an activity where reasonably necessary for safety or due to access restrictions.

No particular weather condition, landscape, wildlife sighting, Northern Lights display, level of privacy or photographic result can be guaranteed.

Clients must follow safety instructions, official closures and guidance from the Provider and relevant authorities. Dangerous locations, including beaches exposed to sneaker waves, glaciers, cliffs and geothermal areas, must be approached only where permitted and under appropriate guidance.

07 Client responsibilities

Clients are responsible for arriving at the agreed meeting point on time, providing accurate booking information and informing the Provider in advance of any relevant mobility needs, dietary requirements or other practical considerations.

Clients must bring suitable clothing, footwear and personal equipment for the conditions and activities described in the booking confirmation.

The Provider may refuse participation in an activity where a participant’s conduct, equipment or condition creates a reasonable safety concern. Any resulting cancellation or refund will be handled in accordance with the confirmed booking terms and applicable law.

08 Photography & image delivery

Photography coverage, approximate duration, image selection, editing style, delivery method and expected delivery timeframe will be specified in the booking proposal or confirmation.

The Provider exercises professional judgment in photographing and editing images. The client acknowledges that artistic style, composition, lighting and editing are subjective and form part of the creative service.

Unless otherwise agreed, the Provider selects the final images and delivers them through a digital gallery or another agreed method. Raw files and unedited images are not included unless expressly stated in writing.

Delivery times are estimates unless a specific deadline has been agreed in writing. Clients should download and securely back up delivered files within the gallery’s availability period.

09 Copyright & image usage

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, copyright in photographs remains with the photographer. Purchasing a photography service does not transfer copyright ownership.

Clients may use delivered images for personal purposes, including printing, sharing with friends and family, and posting on personal social media, provided the images are not materially altered or used commercially without written permission.

Commercial use, publication, resale, advertising, or other professional use requires prior written permission and may be subject to a separate licence.

The Provider will not use identifiable client photographs for portfolio, website, social media or promotional purposes without the necessary permission or other valid legal basis. Any consent requested for promotional use will be separate from the booking itself and may be declined without affecting the service.

10 Private tours & outdoor activities

Private experiences may involve driving, walking on uneven terrain, exposure to cold, wind and rain, and participation in outdoor activities. Some activities may be provided by independent third-party operators.

Where a third-party operator provides an activity, that operator’s own participation requirements and safety instructions may apply. The Provider will communicate relevant arrangements where known.

Clients must disclose relevant information needed to assess suitability for an activity and must follow the instructions of qualified guides and activity operators.

The exact inclusions, transport arrangements, guiding services and any third-party activities will be described in the booking confirmation. The legal classification of combined travel services and any applicable statutory protections will depend on the arrangement actually sold.

11 Health, fitness & participation

Clients are responsible for deciding whether they can safely participate in the activities they book and for communicating relevant limitations before the experience begins.

Some activities require a reasonable level of fitness, balance or mobility. Where special requirements apply, these should be explained in the booking description or confirmation.

Clients must not participate while impaired by alcohol, drugs or any other condition that may compromise their safety or the safety of others.

12 Delays & technical issues

The Provider will make reasonable efforts to deliver the agreed services. However, traffic, weather, access restrictions, equipment failure, illness and other unexpected events may cause delays or require changes.

If a significant disruption occurs, the Provider will seek a reasonable solution in accordance with the booking agreement and applicable law. This may include an alternative arrangement, rescheduling or another appropriate remedy where available.

13 Force majeure

Neither party will be held responsible for a failure to perform to the extent that performance is prevented by exceptional circumstances beyond reasonable control, such as natural disasters, volcanic activity, government restrictions, serious transport disruption or other comparable events.

The parties will make reasonable efforts to minimise disruption and agree on an appropriate alternative where possible. This section does not remove any mandatory consumer rights or statutory refund obligations that apply to the booking.

14 Liability

The Provider will perform the services with reasonable care and professional diligence. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.

Clients are expected to take reasonable care of their own belongings and to follow safety instructions throughout the experience.

Any limitation of liability will apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law. These terms do not remove statutory rights relating to personal injury, negligence, consumer protection or other matters where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

15 Complaints & communication

If a concern arises before, during or after a service, clients should contact the Provider as soon as reasonably possible so that the matter can be reviewed and, where appropriate, resolved.

Complaints should include the booking details and a clear description of the issue. This does not affect any legal deadlines or rights the client may have under applicable law.

16 Privacy & personal information

Personal information is handled in accordance with the Provider’s Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law. Information may be used where necessary to respond to enquiries, manage bookings, deliver services, process payments and meet legal obligations.

Please refer to the Privacy Policy for further information about how personal data is handled.

17 Changes to these terms

The version applicable to a booking will generally be the version provided or made available when the booking is confirmed, subject to any later written agreement and mandatory legal requirements. Updated terms will be published on this website where appropriate.

18 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland, subject to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that apply to the client. Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from relying on mandatory rights or bringing a claim before a competent authority or court where the law permits.

19 Copyright & intellectual property
